Rules of Thumb
Five simple rules to follow that will result in success.


Build a Form
A Form is a web page object consisting of selections/entries that allow a Visitor to provide information about themselves. For a complete definition of a template, see the Glossary.


Build a Template
With respect to Landing Pages and Microsites, a Template is a base page definition that serves as a general pattern for many web pages. For a complete definition of a template, see the Glossary.


Build a Page
A page contains your content and forms, making them accessible to your costumers. Using OnDialog's simple editing features creating your pages is a breeze. For a complete definition of a page, see the Glossary.


Build a Microsite
In its most simplified form a Microsite is a collection of Landing Pages to collectively convey either a promotional concept. For a complete definition of a template, see the Glossary.


Create a Target Market
A target market is a specific subset of potential site visitors defined by a rule based on PURL Data fields and values. For a complete definition of a template, see the Glossary.


Create Targeted Content
Targeted content is web page content to be displayed whenever a site visitor's PURL Data matches a corresponding target market. For a complete definition of a template, see the Glossary.


Glossary
Build a Page

Step 1) From the Manage menu, select “My Pages.”


Step 2) In the My Pages menu, select “Add landing page.”

Step 3) Enter a page name, select the domain you want your page to be located at, assign the pages a URL by typing “/” and the web address, e.g., “/mypage” or “/example/mypage."


Step 4) Click “Continue.”


Step 5) Choose the template you want to assign to this page. Choose a template by double-clicking on your template of choice.

Step 6) Now you are ready to edit your page.



Edit a Page

Step 1) From the Manage menu, select “My pages.”


Step 2) From the My Pages menu, select “Edit page.”

Step 3) In the Page Editor, place your cursor in an Editable Area, identified by a text placeholder “( Double Click to Edit )”. You can now add your own text and content in this placeholder. (Hint: To select the text placeholder, you can place your cursor over the Editable Area and double click.) NOTE: You must have placed Content Areas in your page’s template in order to add content to your page.

Step 4) Repeat Step 3 for all Editable Areas in the page.


Step 5) Once you are finished adding and editing your page's content, click "Save" to save your work and "Publish" to put it online.
