Step 3) Choose a basic layout for your template: Use the drop-down menu to choose between one, two and three-column templates. Use the select list to chose a layout (e.g., 2 proportional columns with a header and footer). Note: You will be able to easily adjust the overall layout and number of content placements – this initial selection is just to get you started. Enter a Template Name and click “Continue.”

Choose Layout Graphic

Step 4) You are now in the Template Editor. Note: At this point you have not yet actually created your template until you click “Save” on the left. If your selected layout and/or template name are not what you want, you may simply backup and start again, using the same template name or a different one.

Edit a Template

Step 1) From the Manage menu, select “My Templates.”

Step 2) From the My Templates menu, select “Edit Template.”

Step 3) In the Template Editor, place your cursor in a DIV (one of the boxes with a colored, dashed outline and a text placeholder – e.g., “[[COLUMN 1]]”), where you would like to insert content. Select the entire pre-existing content (e.g., “[[COLUMN 1]]”) by dragging the cursor from one end of the content to the other. Once the content is highlighted, hit backspace or delete to remove it. (Hint: To select the text placeholder, you can place your cursor over the DIV and click three times.)

Step 4) With your cursor still in the DIV, click the “Content Areas” link in the accordion menu to the left of the template. Select a named Content Area to add to the DIV and double-click on the Content Area’s name to insert it into the DIV. You will see a green box labeled with the name of the Content Appear in your selected DIV. This will now be an Editable Area in pages that use this template, allowing you to create multiple pages with different content from the same template.

Step 5) Repeat Step 2 for all DIVs in the template, as well as the header and footer.

Step 6) After you have placed Content Areas into your template, you may add text, images and forms to these areas. For text, simply type in the Content Area. For images, see “To insert an image.” For forms, see “To insert a form.”

Step 7) Once you are finished adding content to your template, click “Save.”
